We believe in the power of small businesses. When AIB Merchant Services approached us with the concept of launching an eCommerce bundle for the Irish market, their mission was clear: to help small retailers seamlessly transition to online selling without the complexity of establishing a physical store. We brought this to life, by naming the Product "Díol", Gaelic for, "sell", and built an incredible brand.
An ambitious platform designed to simplify e-commerce for local businesses, Díol needed more than just a product.
They required a brand that resonated and marketing materials that clearly communicated their value. Additionally, they needed a compelling way to tell their story to encourage retailers to take action.
This partnership allowed us to bring Díol’s vision to life, helping small retailers not just envision the possibilities, but take the first step toward getting their business online, expanding their reach, and thriving in the digital space.

The Challenge: Creating a Brand That Resonates
Imagine being a small business owner with a handful of loyal customers but no online presence. You know your products have the potential to reach a much larger audience, but the thought of setting up an e-commerce site feels overwhelming—expensive, time-consuming, and complicated. This is the challenge Díol set out to solve.
AIB Merchant Services tasked us with:
- Developing a brand identity, including naming, logo, icons, and style guide
- Creating a wide array of marketing collateral to tell their story, like social media posts, one-pager, and landing pages to explain their value
- Producing a promotional video to showcase Díol’s features
The challenge was two-fold: how do you create a brand that both stands out and speaks directly to small business owners, all while making online selling feel accessible and secure?












Our Process: Storytelling at its Finest
The human brain has an incredibly high recall value when it learns new information in the form of a story. It literally activates both sides of your brain, creating a network of interconnected neural pathways in the hippocampus (the memory center). I mean, who doesn't love a good story?
Building a brand that people can't resist and crave to be a part of, is contingent on giving people a reason to believe. When done correctly, visual design and message (Art and Copy) can effectively weave different elements of the narrative that people can absorb seamlessly.
We did this with Díol in every aspect of the identity. Reason being, we had to appeal to a myriad of different small-to-midsized businesses across several industries. Remain fluid, tech-forward, and bold while not alienating any business in search of an eCommerce solution — challenge accepted.
AIB Merchant Services trusted our Brand Development process to create magic in the Irish market.
1. Naming & Brand Identity
First things first—we needed a name that captured the essence of Díol. After thoughtful brainstorming and exploration, we landed on the name "Díol," meaning "sell" in Irish, felt perfect—short, catchy, and deeply rooted in local culture.
Next, we brought the name to life through a complete visual identity. This was where the fun began!
2. Brand Identity
Logo
For Díol's logo, we combined a lowercase “d” with a shopping cart silhouette, achieving a design that required significant refinement to balance both form and function. The result is a custom logotype and glyph that share a geometric foundation, conveying a tech-forward approach, while rounded edges add a sense of approachability.

Icons
Custom icons visually capture Díol’s core features—like seamless online selling, secure transactions, and an intuitive user experience. Each icon is carefully crafted to complement the logo’s stroke width and thickness, achieving a cohesive and professional look.

Color Palette
For the color palette, we chose a sophisticated blend of indigo, navy, and violet as primary tones, complemented by bold accents like electric green, lilac, fuchsia, and tango red. The brand’s aesthetic remains neutral and clean with generous use of white, soft gray, and powder blue for balance.
Typography & Style guide
We selected two Google web-friendly fonts: Golos Text as the primary typeface for headlines and body copy, and Space Mono for accent text. Space Mono’s geometric forms complement Golos Text, adding a unique visual contrast while enhancing the brand's modern, structured look.
3. Bringing the Brand to Life
With the brand identity locked in, it was time to show what Díol was all about. We wanted retailers to immediately understand the value Díol could bring to their business, no matter where they first came across it.
Sizzle Video
To round out the brand’s bold visual identity, we created an energetic sizzle reel that captures Díol's dynamic presence. Designed as a high-impact conversation starter, this video serves as an engaging introduction for small business owners curious to learn more about Díol's transformative potential.
One-Pagers:
We crafted a dynamic one-pager to serve as a persuasive sales tool, clearly outlining Díol's core features and benefits.

Social Media Campaigns:
We launched a series of vibrant social media assets to showcase Díol, highlighting why it’s the ideal choice for business owners. Each piece speaks directly to potential challenges owners face with digital storefronts, emphasizing how Díol solves these issues seamlessly.
